Just What the Dr. Ordered

It's time for church!

I am getting cabin fever!! And even though Edy's pediatrician suggested that we keep her home until Spring, we went ahead and took her to church this morning. It was SO nice to get out for a little while. Plus, I enjoyed being back at church.
Isn't AG's outfit adorable? My friend and fellow blogger, Becky, made it for her. She is so talented! Thanks, Becky.
Edy and I ready for church.
Look at those chubby cheeks!
My sweet girls!

Edy slept through the entire church service, but I was so glad that we ventured out for a bit. I needed it!

By the way, it's tough to get three girls ready and out the door on time! Whew! I'm beat!

Edy Grows-1 month

Well, technically she is four weeks old. She won't be a month old for a couple more days, but I was ready to take her picture.

Since we have a two year old, I feel that sometimes Edy gets lost in the shuffle. But, it seems like she is content watching us live our crazy lives.

Edy, here are some of the things we have noticed about you during your short little life:
  • love bath time
  • at 3 weeks weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces
  • takes around 4 naps a day
  • good sleeper--we swaddle you, turn on the sound machine (white noise), and you go to sleep easily (usually w/o a fuss)
  • have already cut out a night time feeding (feeding schedule: 3am, 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, and 9pm)
  • starting to have a lot more "wake" time
  • respond to my voice by getting very calm and looking around
  • beginning to focus on a single object
  • very "happy spitter" (go through a burp cloth and bib at every feeding)
You are a great girl and we love you so much.

I'm that person...

I am that person that constantly posts pics of my kids looking cute!
This blog was originally set up for our extended family--due to the fact that none of them live near us. And I know they appreciate the pics of their girls.

Now, for the pictures...

Ava Grace, I think you look cute ALL of the time...even when your hair is a mess, you have a snotty nose, dirty face, and all of that other fun stuff. You are my perfect little girl!

Sweet Shoes

How sweet are these shoes? My parents bought me a pair when I was born and I was thrilled when they gave AG a pair shortly after her arrival. Plus, I was shocked that this company still existed and that little has changed about the style of the shoe after all of these years. Today, I received a package in the mail and it was a pair of shoes for Edy.

Sweet Sound

I'm sitting in my bedroom after a long day with my girls.  It has just been us three girls for the last twelve hours.  It has been hard at times, but we made it.

Anyway, I'm sitting on my bed and over the monitor, I hear Ava Grace sweetly singing "Holy, Holy, Holy."  How sweet is that?  Such a sweet blessing.

First Holiday

Valentine's Day will be Edy's first holiday and her daddy didn't leave her out!
He had some special items just for her!
I just love that Graham takes Valentine's Day seriously and spoils his girls!

Strawberry Shortcake Surprise

AG loves to pretend and I LOVE that she loves to pretend. I think it is so sweet to hear her in her room talking to her dolls and using her sweet imagination. You guys have seen the posts on Cinderella's Castle and her obsession love for the princesses! She's also developed a liking for Strawberry Shortcake. Wow! What a blast from the past. Strawberry Shortcake has gotten a make-over and she is back and better than ever.

For Valentine's Day, Graham surprised AG with none other than...
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE'S HOUSE!
I must admit, this little bakery is fabulous.  And I can't get enough of this strawberry goodness!  It smells better than I remember.
Below:  The whole gang got together for a surprise party for Orange Blossom! Shh...all Graham's idea!

Strollin'

I have enjoyed taking AG on strolls after school.  My single stroller is really not made for roads and is definitely not made for brisk walking or jogging --trust me, I've tried and failed!  I knew that I wanted to continue going for walks when Edy arrived, so I've been researching double stollers for months now. I wanted to make sure that I weighed all of my options and that I was making the right decision (if that is even possible). I had some specific criteria:
  • able to be stored in the trunk of my Honda
  • capable of being used at the mall as well as on the road (walking/jogging)
  • equipped with storage compartments
  • easy to maneuver
  • fairly lightweight
  • reclining seats
I ended up going with the Baby Jogger City Micro. Thanks Cary for the suggestion. I know I am going to be very pleased with this choice.  Not only is this stroller good for trips to the mall, but it is a jogging stroller--even though it doesn't have the big rubber wheels.

Below:  I took this picture to show how the stroller can fit through standard doorways. FABULOUS!
Here it is all folded up!  So compact.

Now, I am just waiting for some nice weather so I can go for walks with my kiddos!

Thanks Mom and Dad for the stroller.  We are going to get a lot of use out of it!

Snowden Returns

Last week, AG and I made a snowman which she lovingly named Snowden. Each morning, when she woke up, she would look out her window and say, "Hi, Snowden." When returning from school each day, she would exclaim, "There's Snowden." When he melted, Graham told her that he would come back one day. I was hoping it would snow again soon so he could keep his word.

Yesterday, Graham bathed AG and got her all ready for preschool. I started watching the news and noticed that schools were cancelled. I was unsure as to why...the schools here RARELY dismiss. We looked out the window and to our surprise, we had another 3 to 4 inches of gorgeous snow!

Needless to say, Graham made Snowden return.

2 weeks old

Edy, you are 2 weeks old. We are so in love with you. You are such a sweet, content, little baby.

Look at that little smile!
