Easter 2017

I know, I know...Easter was months ago, but I can't leave this family reunion undocumented.

For most of our married life, we've stayed home and enjoyed Easter as a family and hosted dinner for some friends.  Since moving to East Texas Graham's bro has joined us for Sunday lunch, too.  

For years, I've been wanting to host Easter lunch for the whole family. It's been hard getting it all worked out, but we finally got everyone to join us this year.  

We had a great time together and I am looking forward to doing it again next year!

We had our good friends, the Moore's, and Uncle Corey and Faith for Easter lunch.

The meal turned out to be wonderful!  Ham, salad, Easter egg salad, potato salad, baked beans, fruit pizza, derby pie, cherry cheesecake bites--every bite was yum!

My girls weren't in the mood for pics. (The theme continued the rest of the day.)

It rained and rained, but that didn't stop us from having a great egg hunt!

Easter through the years.  *2009 cracks me up.  It looks like we suddenly had twins, but I just had a collage of two pics (one with Graham and AG and one with me and AG)

Easter Through the Years...
2008: AG's first Easter 2009: I couldn't find a picture of our family for 2009, but I did find a pic of Graham with AG and me with AG. 2010: Edy's first Easter and our last Easter in Arkansas 2011: I suffered a miscarriage the day before Easter and was sad, but we had a wonderful Easter celebration with our church family and I was filled with joy!  Amazingly, it remains one of my favorite Easters to date. 2012: We had been trying for over a year to conceive and still had six or more months before we would finally get the good news we had been hoping and praying for! 2013: One of our final family pics before Joy's arrival--she arrived five weeks later! 2014: Joy's first Easter!

Resurrection Sunday 2014

As always, we had a wonderful Easter. Great time of worship with the body of Christ, great fellowship with friends and family, and great food!!!

This was Joy's first Easter and I loved seeing her basket sitting next to her big sisters'!

I love this pic of my FIVE family mainly because it reminds me to be thankful and give Him the glory for everything! *more to come in an upcoming post!

Our Easter lunch was just perfect. We got to enjoy it with family and some of our close friends.  I shared our Easter table setting and menu here.

little walk down memory lane...

Two years ago--the day before Easter, we sadly suffered a miscarriage.  Although it was a really hard time in our lives, I remember being filled with so much joy on Resurrection Sunday.  The undeniable fact that our Heavenly Father is our Comforter, Healer, Protector, Sustainer, Deliverer, Provider...could not escape me even in my pain.

Last year, I looked at this pic of our family several times and prayed...Father, if my family never grows beyond these four members, I will continue to give You all the honor and praise.

And this year...all five of us (just 5 weeks until Joy's due date). I'm thankful and humbled that God granted me my request.
