life-n-pics

pics w/commentary comin' right up...

My wonderful parents just spent a few days in New Orleans for the Women's NCAA Final Four.  They sent me this pic and it put a smile on my face.  I love 'em!

Loving all of the free monogram downloads on Pinterest.  I made a new prayer journal last week using one of the monogram freebies.

Just a couple of gals hanging out, munchin' on some popsicles, and watching their daddy mow the lawn.  I love spring!

What a good daddy to watch BARBIE with his babe.  He never ceases to amaze me!

More spring beauty. The road to our house--we're just around the corner on the left behind all of that wonderful allergy-inducing goodness.

Joy Tatum's visitor treats are all ready to go.  It's one of those things that's completely unnecessary, but I enjoy doing it and did it for the other two.

Our rosebush got it's first bloom.  Take my word for it...this bloom smells wonderful!

That's all.

hymnal page wreath

For some time, I have been wanting to make a book page wreath.  There are a million and one different kinds and tutorials on Pinterest so I won't bore you with another tutorial.

There are lots of great styles, but I went an easier and seemingly quicker route...

Instead of book pages, I used pages from one of my old hymnals.  It is fitting for me because I love music and I love great hymns of the faith.

I made a overlapping leaf style wreath.

Super easy, ridiculously cheap, and a great way to lighten up my mantle.

Homemade Sugar Scrub

I. heart. Pinterest. Y'all know that, right?

I pinned this scrub a few weeks ago and made it for Christmasgifts.

It was so simple to make and fun to create.
I got the clamp jars from IKEA for next to nothing, the essential oil came from a whole foods store, the spoons came from Wal-Mart, and everything else was stuff I had around the house.

Stole it from Pinterest

What did we do before Pinterest? I made this trail mix for a couple of parties and it's been a hit.  It is festive and unique.

I took the left-overs and made goody bags for the ladies I eat with on Tuesday nights.

TRY IT!

{crock-pot}Meals & {life}Planner

First of all, if you aren't on Pinterest, you need to sign-up now....Go!  Hurry!

A few weeks ago, I pinned some crockpot meals.

I had to try a couple of those recipes and I planned my grocery list accordingly.

The other night, I compiled the ingredients for Chicken Curry and Healthy Mama BBQ Chicken.

It took about 30 minutes to chop, mix, and store the ingredients.
I loaded the ingredients into freezer bags and put them away for later.

Yesterday, I pulled the Healthy Mama BBQ Chicken out of the freezer and put it in the Crock-Pot (cooked on low for 8 hours).  I'm going to show you the finished product in a bit, but before I do, I had to take a minute to show you this...
In an earlier post, I mentioned that I got a new{life}planner.  I've been reading some recent blog posts on planners (everybody has the same idea these days).  I would have loved one like this or this, but mine works great too.  Next year, I may need to jump on the Erin Condren bandwagon and get a coupon for one of her awesome {life}planners because they are just too cute plus very useful!  I can't even begin to explain how much I love pens, paper, markers, paperclips, O-R-G-A-N-I-Z-A-T-I-O-N, etc.  SO, my new planner has fulfilled my obsession.........for now anyway.

Now that that's out of the way........

Here's last night's dinner:
Healthy Mama BBQ Chicken

This meal was a hit.
