Beach Retreat 2015

It's that time of year once again--time to head to the beach with some ladies from my church.  We've been going to Crystal Beach just outside of Galveston, TX for the past few years.   We have the best time and this year was no exception!  Not only did we enjoy the ocean, relaxation, and fellowship, but we were also sanctified with truth.  We watched the video series by Pricilla Shirer:  Breathe.  It was wonderful.  Pricilla is a gifted communicator and God really used her to speak to me this weekend.  I needed this message in a big way. There are so many things in our lives that consume us--not all bad, not all good.  It's so important for us to make room--declutter our lives so we can worship our Savior with fewer interruptions  and distractions.  I had some sore toes throughout this study and plan to readjust a few things in my life to made more room for Him!

I look forward to this wonderful getaway each and every year!  I love my girls, but it's nice to have a moment away to refocus and 'breathe'.

the. beach. {day 4}

I'm not making any promises, but I think this is my last beach post...

Day 4: Wednesday

We had a VERY sunny and hot final day at the beach.  We got up fairly early and headed out, brought our lunch with us, and I don't think we got back to the house until 6ish!  It was a blast.

 

 

 

 

After a long day on the beach, we went for seafood...I had been craving some snowcrab (one of my favoirte things to eat).  Mom and I shared a pound and a half and it did not disappoint!  I put it on the top two things I've ever eaten with it being a close second to the steak I had on my honeymoon.  Good stuff.

What a wonderful beach vacation.  We are already making plans to go back next year!

One of my goals this fall is to try and use my camera more in Manual Mode than Program Mode.  I love taking pictures, but the quality of my pics needs some improvement.  I know I'm pretty hard on myself, but the whole point of me getting a new camera was to take better pics.  Still learning!

Enough of my ramblings and on to my little cuties...
