Five on Friday

[ONE]

I haven't been able to take our traditional 'Sunday pic' in a few weeks because we've been in such a rush to get out the door.  I've had to improvise!  Also...check out all of the wonderful fall colors down our driveway!

[TWO]

I never knew how much fun a phone and a window screen could be!  The girls and I laughed for a solid ten minutes at their funny faces.  Also...Edy has a strange resemblance to the pigs from Angry Birds.

[THREE]

Yes, it's been super cold in East Texas, but I didn't know that meant I could dress like a lumberjack for church.  Oh Well!  I had nursery duty.

[FOUR]

Recently, Graham was given his great-grandfather's sermon notes.  What a treasure!  It has been so fascinating to look through those pages.

[FIVE]

I've just recently finished reading Ephesians.  I'm so thankful for God's living word and how it sharpens, challenges, rebukes, and blesses me!

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2

O {Flocked} Christmas Tree

How lovely are your snow-sprayed branches!

To say I'm excited about my flocked Christmas tree is an understatement!  Thanks, Na and Pops for making my Christmas!

This year, I used burlap, white, some silver/mercury glass ornaments, pine cones, a few berries, and red ornaments on my main Christmas tree. 

I haven't purchased any ornaments for my tree in years, I just pick and chose from what I have on hand.  *truth:  I have a lot of ornaments*

I probably overdo it a bit--I'm aware of that.  Each year, I swear I'm going to tone it down and enjoy a really simple, yet lovely Christmas tree and each year I go overboard.  *sigh* It's my Christmas decorating dilemma. 

Next year, I'm lessening it all--maybe just garland and handmade snowflakes. ;)  I have good intentions.

This is our 10th Christmas as a married couple.

7 months of Joy

It's hard to believe that our little Joyful has been with us for seven months!  She is growing like a weed and changing everyday.

Joy's stats:

• sitting up
• army crawling
• clicking her tongue
• sleeping from 8 to 8
• taking about 3 naps a day
• nursing 5 times a day
• we force her to take a few bites of veggies/fruit once a day
• 18.5lbs and 27in. long (Dr. says she's in the 50th percentile for weight and height, but I'd guess 90th!)
• loves playing on the floor in her bedroom
• belly laughs at her sisters
• won't take a passy
• won't take a bottle
• sleeps on her tummy--I gave up fighting with her.
• sucks on her fingers constantly

 That's one talented little girl!

Christmas Mantel 2013

This year, I kept my mantel pretty simple.  Just some white lights, pinecone garlands, evergreen clippings, a lighted flocked wreath, and my FIVE stockings!

I've gone back and forth with whether or not I like the stockings grouped in the center of the mantel or spread out.  Graham told me he preferred them spread out, but I'll make that change next year! What's done is done!

 

 

 

 

I'm looking forward to browsing through all of the wonderful Christmas mantels and pinning some ideas for next year!
