Teaching math has not been hard for us to balance. AG absolutely loves it and thanks to Saxon Math Curriculum, I like it too!
The manipulatives are great for hands-on learning and make it WAY fun! 
AG loves to create word problems--loves it!
We start our school day with reading and then finish-up with math, memory work, and independent work. How's that for a well-balanced "school" day?
