Learning to Chase Rabbits

Being balanced and having routines are fine and dandy, but I've had to learn to chase the proverbial rabbit from time to time!  For me, a "let's get it done and move on" type person, I can be so focused on routines and chores that I often forget to relish in teachable moments and enjoy a little down-time.

Case in Point:  AG is making a lot of strides in her reading.  This morning she asked to write a story all on her own.  My first thought was to say, "Later. Right now we need to...." and never give it another thought.  But instead, I jumped on it!  My kid wanted to extend her learning all on her own!  "Absolutely, you can!" I responded.

Flying a Kite by Ava Grace
Sam and Dog fly a kite.  It is fun!  Dog runs and runs.  Uh Oh!  The kite falls in the pond.  Dog jumps in the pond to fetch the kite.  Splish! Splash!  Sam is glad.  Dog is wet and glad.
The End.
How cute is that?  Being more balanced in life affords me little nuggets like that one and I'm so thankful for it.
