Last Sunday, we took off for a quick family vacation to visit my family in Alabama! My sweet Gran and Papaw have been to see us three times since we've been in Texas and several times when we were in Arkansas. We were long overdue for a visit in their neck of the woods!
The trip was estimated at around 10 hours, but with stops we were thinking more like 12. Boy, were we wrong!! The rain storm of the year was underway and we were stuck smack-dab in the middle of it!
The girls with their great-aunt and great-uncle
Tuesday night, we had a big cook-out with a bunch of my family. It was so good to see everyone and for them to meet Joy!

good. good. times.
On Wednesday night, Graham preached at my Gran's church.
Joy loved the music and listening to Papaw sing!
Thursday, we headed towards Memphis and our old stomping grounds. We stopped by our first apartment for a quick peek. We wanted to show it to the girls, but they weren't amused! What? You mean y'all had life before us!
We spent our first three years of marriage in this apartment building--seminary housing!
We spent the night in Southaven, MS and went to dinner with some of our dearest friends. It was so good to catch up with two of our favorite people!
It's been 8 years since we hung out with Shawn and Robyn but it was as if no time had passed at all! Love this couple so much!!Friday, we made the long trip back to Texas. We stopped in Little Rock for lunch and got to meet up with Na, Pops, and Mamaw!

The girls were excellent travelers! I was really impressed!
Ten minutes from home and AG decides to doze off!
I could tell that Joy was tickled to be back in her own bed. Just check out her bed-head...
We have a Papaw too and I just love him :)! Such a sweet post...the girls are precious!
ReplyDeleteOh, Leslie, what a precious trip and time with family. Enjoy, sweet one. Enjoy. Those days are gone in a flash. I do love reading about your family and little girls. Soooo cutie patootie!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading, Ms. Bonnie! I loved the visit. It was well worth the drive!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping in, Hope! I sure did enjoy the visit. My husband has helped with the girls these days since returning so I can get our life back in order! HA!
ReplyDeleteBD has that same carseat in a different color! It is so great that it can rear face a long time, but also forward face until like 70 lbs??? Do kids really stay in car seats that long… I digress… any ways, it looks like y'all had so much fun!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know all your family enjoyed your visit so much and traveling with 3 little ones that far is quite a feat for sure. But, Joy certainly looked "snug as a bug" in her carseat. Just precious!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how you can reconnect with "dear" friends instantly.
Easter blessings!!
It's such a neat little seat. Looks like a little recliner. She was snug as a bug in a rug!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ms. Lea. Isn't that carseat funny? She looks like she's laid back in a little recliner. My husband joked that he wanted one! Thanks for stopping in!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great tip! Love all the pictures of the girls :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful trip! Looks like you had a good one too!!
