Five on Friday

Hey Friends! I hope everyone had an exciting Halloween!  We sure did, but I'm glad it's over and done with!  On to Thanksgiving and Christmas--the most wonderful time of the year.

[ONE]
How much does my Joyful look like her daddy?  It's crazy!

[TWO]
I'm on a mission to buy less "new" and more "loved-on" gifts this year for Christmas.  So far, I've purchased several items for family that have been gently used.  I hope they enjoy my finds.

Remember the Little Tikes vanities from the 90s?  I ordered one for Edy (she's asked for a hair salon for Christmas).  I had to laugh when I read the vendor's words about this piece: adorable vintage Little Tikes vanity.  Vintage?  Really? Since when did 90s items become vintage?

Anyway...I hope Edy loves her vintage vanity!

[THREE]
Joy is too cute for words these days...

[FOUR]
I'm not what one would call a baker, but my girls have been wanting to cook/bake and I feel the need to fuel their interests.
  • We made our traditional pumpkin seeds.  This year I added some Worcestershire sauce.  They were perfect.
  • We made a {boxed} Pumpkin Creme cake and it was wonderful.
  • I had to include this chocolate bar in the mix.  Bacon and Chocolate together in harmony is a no-brainer!  It was SO delish!

[FIVE]
In honor of Reformation Day, we read a great children's book to our girls:  Martin Luther: A Man Who Changed The World by Paul L. Maier.  The illustrations in the book are incredible.  I'm thrilled my girls are beginning to understand this important time in history and how it shaped our beliefs.
Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone, Glory of God Alone

“The true treasure of the church is the most holy gospel of the glory and grace of God.” -Martin Luther

This weekend, AG is wrapping up soccer and ending with a little party at the park.  That should be fun!
Have a great weekend, folks!

  2. Oh my goodness, love the "vintage" vanity! :-)
We bought a pre loved pedal car (FAO Schwarz mind you) for the little bug this year. It is a yellow taxi and was SO much less than the brand new ones. I am such a thrifter anyways....
