I have these glazed ceramic canisters I got at Pier One a few years back. They are really dark, but I love their shape. I decided (on a whim) to paint them and they turned out GREAT! So I'm here to tell you all about it. Yes, you can spray paint ceramics!!!!
{the canisters before I spray painted them}
- First, I gave them a coat of Krylon Dual Paint and Primer.
- I let that dry and then gave them a second coat.
- I let that dry and then gave them a coat of some regular spray paint. I used a creamy white.
- After the spray paint dried, I gave them a coat of Rust-oleum Crystal Clear Enamel for a little bit of gloss.
{the finished project}
Yes, YAY for spray paint! I may be a bit green with envy ~ turned out GREAT!!!

PS I'm having my first linky party on 12/13. It will be "Christmas Scape" themed, tablescape ~ landscape or anywhere else in you home that you've added a touch of Christmas! I'd LOVE for you to link up! My blog is http://www.itsoverflowing.com/.
I think the white is fab. And you could do the top and bottom each a diff color, too. So many spray paints - so little time!
ReplyDeleteLove them, I need to find something like this. Thanks for the inspiration, I'll be hitting the thrift stores! Tabitha @simplyHomecents
