Painting Ceramics

I have these glazed ceramic canisters I got at Pier One a few years back.  They are really dark, but I love their shape.  I decided (on a whim) to paint them and they turned out GREAT!  So I'm here to tell you all about it. Yes, you can spray paint ceramics!!!!

{the canisters before I spray painted them}
  • First, I gave them a coat of Krylon Dual Paint and Primer.
  • I let that dry and then gave them a second coat.
  • I let that dry and then gave them a coat of some regular spray paint.  I used a creamy white.

  • After the spray paint dried, I gave them a coat of Rust-oleum Crystal Clear Enamel for a little bit of gloss.

  2. I think the white is fab. And you could do the top and bottom each a diff color, too. So many spray paints - so little time!
