It's that time of year once again--time to head to the beach with some ladies from my church. We've been going to Crystal Beach just outside of Galveston, TX for the past few years.
We have the best time and this year was no exception! Not only did we enjoy the ocean, relaxation, and fellowship, but we were also sanctified with truth. We watched the video series by Pricilla Shirer: Breathe. It was wonderful. Pricilla is a gifted communicator and God really used her to speak to me this weekend. I needed this message in a big way.
There are so many things in our lives that consume us--not all bad, not all good. It's so important for us to make room--declutter our lives so we can worship our Savior with fewer interruptions and distractions. I had some sore toes throughout this study and plan to readjust a few things in my life to made more room for Him!
I'll end with some of my beach pics...
Do you spot the sun peaking over the horizon?
I look forward to this wonderful getaway each and every year! I love my girls, but it's nice to have a moment away to refocus and 'breathe'.
My hometown (Magnolia) has a civic theater and they are performing the play Steel Magnolias in a few weeks. My mom recently auditioned and got the part of Clairee. In honor of her role in the play and tribute to the town where she's lived the longest, we had a Steel Magnolias 60th birthday party for her. The party was a hit and I wanted to show y'all how cute it turned out!
I made little cards with quotes from the movie. I'll share them in a printable soon.
It's not a Steel Magnolias party without a bleeding armadillo cake!
Coming up: I'll share some more pics from the party and the cards with quotes from Steel Magnolias!
Hey y'all, I'm Leslie. Things I swore I'd never do: marry a pastor, homeschool, and drive a minivan. Joke is on me--I proudly do all three! We are native Arkansans, but now call The Lone Star State home. This blog is about our family and the joy we have through Christ Jesus.
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:11
